Artist statement: The main inspiration for my work is the minimal contrast between the beauty and real fear of nature. People are capable of enjoying something that’s frightening to them, even more so , are searching for this feeling. This basic, instinctive emotion can give us goosebumps and I try to recreate this in my images. That ‘unheimliche’ thing that nature can have is what I’m looking for myself. I’m searching for consolation and comfort in nature in the hope it can give me what i’m missing: emotion.
